LedgerNest is accounting software for small businesses, firms and professionals in India. Use the desktop app for Windows, which keeps your books on your own computer and works offline, or LedgerNest Online, which opens in the browser on any computer or phone after you sign in.

Google Drive backup

If you connect your Google account, LedgerNest saves a copy of your books once a day in a folder named “LedgerNest Backups” in your own Google Drive, so your data is safe even if your computer fails. LedgerNest can only see the backup files it creates. See the Privacy policy.

Privacy policy

LedgerNest · Effective 1 November 2026 (updated for LedgerNest Online)

This policy explains what information the LedgerNest desktop application (“LedgerNest”, “we”) uses and how it is protected. LedgerNest is developed by Niyaan Technologies.

1. Where your accounting data is kept

Desktop app: all company data you enter (ledgers, entries, invoices, stock and settings) is stored on your own computer. It is not sent to any server of ours.

LedgerNest Online: your account (name, email and an encrypted password) and your company data are stored on servers run for us by Cloudflare, Inc., so that you can open your books from any device. Your data is used only to run LedgerNest for you. It is never sold, never shared for advertising and never used to train AI. Our staff look at it only if you ask us for support. You can download your company file at any time, and ask us to delete your account and data by email.

2. Google Drive backup (optional)

You may choose to connect your Google account so that LedgerNest can back up your books to your own Google Drive. When you connect, LedgerNest requests only:

• Google Drive – files created by this app (drive.file): to create a folder named “LedgerNest Backups” and to upload, list, download and delete only the backup files that LedgerNest itself created. LedgerNest cannot see or open any other file in your Google Drive.
• Your email address (openid, email): only to show which Google account is connected.

Desktop app: backup files go directly from your computer to your Google Drive. LedgerNest Online: our server uploads the daily copy of your books to your Google Drive for you, even on days you do not sign in. The Google sign-in key is stored encrypted on our server and used only for this.

3. How Google user data is used

• Google user data is used only to provide the backup and restore feature you can see in LedgerNest.
• It is not sold, not shared with anyone, not used for advertising, and not used to train any AI or machine-learning model.
• No person at Niyaan Technologies can read your Google data.

LedgerNest’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

4. Storage and security

The sign-in key that lets LedgerNest upload to your Drive is stored only on your computer, encrypted using Windows’ built-in protection. Connections to Google use secure HTTPS.

5. Your control

• Click Disconnect in LedgerNest (Settings › Backup & data) at any time to stop Drive backup and remove the sign-in key from your computer.
• You can also remove LedgerNest’s access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
• Your backup files remain in your Google Drive until you delete them.

6. Children

LedgerNest is business software and is not intended for children.

7. Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.

Terms of service

By installing or using LedgerNest, you agree to these terms. LedgerNest is developed by Niyaan Technologies.

1. Licence

You are given a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use LedgerNest for your own business or professional work, as per the plan or licence you obtained. You may not copy, resell, modify or reverse-engineer the software.

2. Your data and responsibility

• You own all data you enter in LedgerNest.
• You are responsible for the accuracy of your entries, and for your tax returns, filings and statutory compliance. LedgerNest is a tool to help you; please check figures with your accountant before filing.
• You are responsible for keeping your computer, passwords and backups safe. LedgerNest offers automatic backup, but please make sure it is working.

3. Google Drive backup

Drive backup is optional and uses your own Google account. Your use of Google Drive is also subject to Google’s terms. How Google data is handled is explained in our Privacy policy.

4. Updates and support

We may release updates to fix problems or add features. Support is provided by email or phone during reasonable business hours.

5. No warranty

LedgerNest is provided “as is”. We work to keep it accurate and reliable, but we do not guarantee that it will be free of errors or interruptions.

6. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Niyaan Technologies is not liable for any indirect loss, loss of data, loss of profit, penalty or interest arising from the use of LedgerNest. Our total liability is limited to the licence fee you paid for the current period.

7. Ending use

You may stop using LedgerNest at any time. Your data stays on your computer and in your own backups.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India.
